Psalm 28

L To you, O Lord, I call; my rock, be not / deaf to me, lest, if you be silent to me, I become like those who go down / to the pit.
C Hear the voice of my pleas for mercy, when I cry to / you for help, when I lift up my hands toward your most holy sanctu/ary.
L Do not drag me off with the wicked, with the workers of / evil, who speak peace with their neighbors while evil is / in their hearts.
C Give to them according to their work and according to the evil / of their deeds; give to them according to the work of their hands; render them their / due reward.
L Because they do not regard the works of the Lord or the work / of his hands, He will tear them down and build them / up no more.
C Blessed / be the Lord! For He has heard the voice of my pleas for / mercy.
L The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trusts, and / I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give / thanks to Him.
C The Lord is the strength of His / people; He is the saving refuge of His a/nointed.
L Oh, save your people and bless your / heritage! Be their shepherd and carry them for/ever.
All: Glory be to the Father and / to the Son and to the Holy / Spirit; as it was in the be/ginning, is now, and will be forever. / Amen.

Psalm Prayer
L Let us pray.
L Let the incense of our repentant prayer
ascend before You, O Lord, and let Your
loving-kindness descend on us that, with
purified minds, we may sing Your praises
with the Church on earth and the whole

C Amen.

Hymn: #940 “Holy God, We Praise Thy Name”
(Verses 1 & 5)

1 Holy God, we praise Thy name;
Lord of all, we bow before Thee.
All on earth Thy scepter claim,
All in heav’n above adore Thee.
Infinite Thy vast domain,
Everlasting is Thy reign.

5 Holy Father, holy Son,
Holy Spirit, three we name Thee;
Though in essence only one,
Undivided God we claim Thee
And, adoring, bend the knee
While we own the mystery.

Collect For Peace
L O God, from whom come all holy desires, all good counsels, and all just works, give to us, Your servants, that peace which the world cannot give, that our hearts may be set to obey Your commandments and also that we, being defended from the fear of our enemies, may live in peace and quietness; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Lord’s Prayer
C Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be
Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Gracious Father, for the joy set before Him, Your Son Jesus endured the suffering of the cross. In our suffering, O Lord, strengthen our faith that we may know Your companionship in our darkest hours, through Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
